Prov. 6:6, "Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!"
The Bible teaches us clearly that we are to use our time wisely in labouring for the kingdom of God.  Paul says, "Be very careful, then, how you live - not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil" (Eph. 5:15-16).  This was the way of Jesus: "As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me" (Jn. 9:4).
How easy it is to waste time doing very little for the kingdom of God.  We may intend to spend just a few minutes on Facebook or reading the paper and find that an hour or two has gone.  And yet how many opportunities there are to use our time well.  A bus or train journey can be used to listen to a sermon or in quiet prayer; a lunch time can be used in reading a Christian book that will help us spiritually.  The best way to make sure that we use our time well is to plan the day well.  Think through carefully what you will be doing today and how you can best use each hour God gives you to bring honour to Him.
